In general, in a match played by professional
teams only a few goals are scored. For example in the first English division, during the season 2004 – 2005 there were scored on average 2.57 goals per match. Moreover, 88% of the matches ended with less than 4 goals scored. But only 8% of the games played ended without any goal scored. Soccer rules don’t impose any position in the field to the players, except the goal keeper one. However, in time, some specific positions emerged. For example a full back is a player specialized in preventing daring essays of opponents. The center leader is a player who organizes the offensive game of the team and offers decisive passes to the forward leader, whose main target is to score.
